eSIMs don’t offer a new mobile number for calling or texting.  You can use your eSIM for mobile apps that provide calling and texting functionality including FaceTime, WhatsApp, iMessage, Zoom, Skype, etc.

Of course!  Most phones support having 2 lines active at the same time so you can keep your primary line on to text and call, and use your eSIM line for data.

Just make sure your data roaming on your primary line is turned off to avoid roaming charges.

eSIMs are as secure as SIM cards as they use the same encryption and authentication protocols.

You can deactivate your eSIM by following the steps below:

  • Open your Settings app
  • Tap Cellular
  • Under Cellular Plans tap the eSIM plan
  • Toggle “Turn on this line” to deactivate the eSIM

You can top up your eSIM if you purchased your initial eSIM from the ItaliaPass app by following the steps below:

  • Open the ItaliaPass app
  • Select the eSIM option in the bottom menu
  • Select the eSIM you would like to top up
  • Select the “Top Up” button to be brought to the available options to top up the eSIM
